Presentation Overview – UK Space Ports

Everyone wants to build rockets, and if you are an internet billionaire you probably can try, but regardless of what you build, a place to launch is still needed. The new race for space is not just about the biggest rocket, it is about the place as well. The UK is part of that race, having quickly moved on from having the dubious record of being the only nation to ever developed sovereign satellite launch capability and then abandoned it, the UK is going where no country has gone before. In this exciting lockdown talk, we’ll explore the new space ports which are on the horizon, what they will offer, who might launch from them, and what this means for UK in terms of innovation, supply chain and which where you too might be boldly launching from in the not too distant future.

Adam Watts, Business and Strategic Development, Nammo Space.

Presentation Overview – Nammo Space Overview

Adam Watts from Nammo Space will be talking about their North Star Rocket System, and their LEROS engines, used in deep space missions such as Juno, the Mars Global Surveyor or the lunar lander for SpaceIL.

Alberto Garbayo, CEO of AVS UK & URA Thrusters

Presentation Overview – Company Development Update

AVS and its new commercial spin-off water propulsion company, URA Thrusters, are developing an innovative catalogue of space mechanical, optomechanical, thermal and propulsion products, including thrusters, PPUs and fluidic components. Alberto will make an overview of their latest developments including their water electrolysis (ICE) family of thrusters (URA) for a broad range of applications: from nano/micro satellites to RCS for large GEO spacecraft.
